Where are you running to What do you think you'll find? Don't you ever think you could Lose what you left behind? The answer isn't always far away But sometimes it can come in disguise The thing that you are looking for May be right under your eyes I know you've got your own life to lead And I guess I kinda got mine And I suppose I'll eke my way through But you'll be doin' twice as fine Hope you make a lot of new friends You won't even have to try All that I can ask from you Is please remember to drop me a line

She's no angel, she's a Nashville fairy Honky tonkin' all the time She ain't no saint, she ain't no Virgin Mary But who said honky tonkin' was a crime? Well, I went out last night to have a round or two Bartender sat me down, said, "How do you do?" Say, who is that girl who's out there dancin' wild and free? He said, "you better stay away from that, just take it from me" 'Cause She's no angel, she's a Nashville fairy Honky tonkin' all the time She ain't no saint, she ain't no Virgin Mary But who said honky tonkin' was a crime I don't know what I did to catch her Wanderin' eye I'm just your average tractor drivin corn fed kinda guy She saddled up this pony and she took me for a ride Last thing I remember I was slappin' her behind Wooo! She's no angel, she's a Nashville fairy Honky tonkin' all the time She ain't no saint, she ain't no Virgin Mary But who said honky tonkin' was a crime Early the next morning, I woke up to a train Rattlin' 'round inside of this big ol' empty brain Much to my surprise when I took a look around My money and my clothes were gone and nowhere to be found But She's no angel, she's a Nashville fairy Honky tonkin' all the time She ain't no saint, she ain't no Virgin Mary But who said honky tonkin' was a crime Who said honky tonkin' was a crime Honky tonkin' ain't no crime

Wish I could take back all the bad things I said about you 'Cause I don't really like you, but I don't want you To know that I don't really like you And I don't want G-d to know that I don't really like you It's nothin' personal, I guess I've just jealous of you Wish I had some of your moves So I could get all the girls like you do Well, maybe not all, just that one, that one, just that one
4.
There's a hole in my cell That they call a window And it lets all the insects crawl in There's a hole in my soul That they call a sickness And it lets all the insects crawl in Maybe these insects have twisted my thinkin' Or maybe it's just funny 'cause I'm bored But you kill a rich man They say you're an assassin But you kill a million poor men They say you're winning the war Winning the war There is mold on my bread They say is what I deserve And it fills me up 'til I'm sick There is mold in my heart They say is what I deserve And it fills me up 'til I'm sick Maybe this mold has eaten my spirit Or maybe it's just funny 'cause I'm bored But you level a building They say you're a terrorist You level a nation They say you've evened the score Evened the score There's a chill in my cell That they say is the winter And it slowly forms ice in my blood. There's a chill through my veins That they say is an evil And it slowly forms ice in my blood Maybe this ice has frozen my reason Or maybe it's just funny 'cause I'm bored But you kill a tyrant They say you're a villain But you kill a hundred oppressed men They say it's upholding the law Upholding the law
5.
Once upon a time I had two loves They were as different as below and above One drove me to the drink The other sent me to the shrink Now, talk about your push comes to shove You can't teach a hammer to love nails Or the wind to love the sails I must be confessin' I'll probably never learn my lesson Now the train's a-comin' loose from the rails Can't even go out in my home town Seems like I'm a lost without a found I sure was feeling great But then a phone call sealed my fate Now my smile has turned right upside down So I'm searching in the book to call a friend When I get to Z, I realize it's the end So help me, Dalai Lama To escape from all this drama Do you have some knowledge you can lend? At the tunnel's end, I think see a light So maybe I should stick around and fight Every note rings true But what good can it do? You win, it's over, goodnight You win, it's over, goodnight

Way up north where you think ice and snow There's this little place that people like to go When the time is right for taking a break To spend some family time down by the lake There's hiking and biking and so much to do You won't ever want the fun times to be through Why don’t you come and join us up in Boyne City Up in Boyne City Where the streets are nice and pretty There's shopping to do and the outdoors too Folks round here are as nice as you You can go outside every single day It's just the nicest place to play It's where we all call home It's Boyne City Down on the river where the fishing's good The trout run big just like they should Casting and rowing till it's getting late Kinda hard not to appreciate All the wonderful things there are to do Especially with that fantastic view Why don't you come and join us up in Boyne City Up in Boyne City Where the streets are nice and pretty There's shopping to do and the outdoors too Folks round here are as nice as you You can go outside every single day It's just the nicest place to play It's where we all call home It's Boyne City Why don't you come and join us here? Wouldn’t it be nice to call this home? It's the greatest place anytime of year Come on home With snow in the winter and leaves in the fall There's so much to do you can't do it all Skiing on the lake and up in the hills No wonder it's home to some million dollar thrills With a view of the lake on a nice summer day I wouldn't want to spend it any other way Why don’t you come and join us up in Boyne City Up in Boyne City Where the streets are nice and pretty There's shopping to do and the outdoors too Folks round here are as nice as you You can go outside every single day It's just the nicest place to play It's where we all call home It's Boyne City It's where we all call home It's Boyne City It's where we all call home

He may look funny But he sure is smart If I wanted to kiss him I wouldn't know where to start On his face he's got so much hair I'm dyin' to know what's under there It's all natural Can't you see I save money on sweaters When it's chilly On my face I've got so much hair I'm dying to show ya what's under there Don't you wonder How it would be If I took my scissors And set you free On his face he's got so much hair I'm dyin' to know what's under there Don't want no shears or razors Don't wanna put up a fight 'Cause you know, darlin' That's my kryptonite On my face I've got so much hair I'm dying to show ya what's under there Unleash the mystery But it's part of my history I just gotta see Babe, I thought you already knew me You might think it's strange But why should I/you have to change? I guess I/you should love you/me anyway Long as we both agree What only matters is underneath We could make history Livin' so happily On his/my face, he's/I've got so much hair But baby, I don't really care

There will always be an Israel As far as I can tell So here's to those who wish us well And all the rest can go to...

Some say that love is a noun Some say that love is a verb Some say that love is an adjective But for me, love's just a word I could say Take good care of yourself But it would be just like A blind man telling another blind man What a rainbow's like Love can make you climb mountains Love can make you go insane Love can make you an idiot Or make you leave town on a train I could say We need each other Just like a floor needs a ceiling To be a floor Like a knob needs a door Like the Jersey needs the Shore My veins bleed loneliness My veins bleed loneliness My veins bleed loneliness My veins My veins bleed loneliness

The whole world runs On New York time Yeah, life is fine On New York time If I could change Your pretty mind Wouldn't be a crime If you changed your mind Life was much better once I taught myself not to love No heartbreak, no jealousy, no push, and no shove 'Cause when you can't love, then you can't hate The world still spins by in an eternal figure eight When I was young Was a sight to behold Always did what I's told Was a site to behold Now the autumn winds blow And the weather's gone cold And I feel pretty old Now the weather's gone cold The whole world runs On New York time Yeah, life is fine On New York time The whole world runs On New York time Yeah, life is fine On New York time The whole world runs On New York time Yeah, life is fine On New York time The whole world runs On New York time Yeah, life is fine On New York time The whole world runs On New York time Yeah, life is fine On New York time The whole world runs On New York time Yeah, life is fine On New York time

I've wrestled with lions, defeated an army But for some reason you still astound me Tell me your secret, honey pie What makes you such a super guy? Bound me with bowstring, good and tight Then just maybe I'll lose all my might Give me the truth, tell me no lies You know I can see it in your eyes No razor should ever touch my head I'll lose my strength, the angel said I'll wait until you fall asleep Then into your quarters I shall creep I gotta say that you're pretty mean Even for a Philistine With scissors in hand, to hair say goodbye You're gonna be a regular guy Now I'm surrounded, I see they've come for me Delilah, I thought that you adored me

about

A small disclaimer: This is not a "new album", per se, but a compilation of rare and unreleased tracks from over the years (2006-2011), in celebration of our fifth anniversary. These songs were recorded in various places and under different circumstances with multiple line-ups. (And yep, the "Volume I" indicates that there's still more in the vault...)

The majority of these tracks come from the sessions for the aborted concept album "Enoch Vermeer & The Reckless Abandonment's Therapy"; track 4 comes from our unfinished opera "Gavrilo", written with lyricist Aaron Barsy; track 10 was our entry in the Boyne City song contest back in '08 (we didn't win); tracks 8 and 19 are earlier alternate versions of songs that later appeared on the "Giant Love" EP; and track 20 was our only (to date) live radio appearance from February 2009 when we were promoting "Samson & Delilah". The remainder of the tracks range from comedy to tragedy. In short, somethin' for everyone... Enjoy!
